New program assures Kendall seniors that help is a phone call away
Senior citizens living throughout Kendall County, now have assurance that if anything were to happen to them someone would come to their aid. With the assistance of a new program that provides daily wellness checks via an automated telephone system, individuals in the county's nine-township area can feel safer.
The Well-Being Check Assistance program provides daily-automated telephone calls free of charge to those individuals who fill out the application form. Once logged into the system, based on frequency requested by the applicant, a warm, friendly voice calls and addresses you by name. Individuals who sign up for the service are asked to press "1" if you are well, or "0" if you need help. If you don't answer the phone, or don't press "1", another call is made later in the day. The application form lets the applicant decide how many attempts are made.
No response initiates a phone call to your friends and family. What this provides is peace of mind to families that are not always able to contact their loved ones on a daily basis. All of the equipment is being housed and serviced through the Yorkville Police Department.
The Kendall County Triad and local Police Departments are offering this service at no cost to residents’ age 55 and older, or disabled residents. If you live in the following townships: Big Grove, Bristol, Fox, Kendall, Lisbon, Little Rock, Na-Au-Say, Oswego or Seward you are eligible to participate.
If interested please click on the link below and print the waiver and registration form. Once completed, please return the form to the Oswego Police Department. For more information contact Oswego Police Officer Brian Nehring at 630-551-7358 or Officer Matthew Fleming at 630-551-7362.
