Preventing Vehicle Burglaries
2014.04.09 - Last year the Oswego Police Department initiated an educational campaign in an effort to reduce the number of car burglaries our community had encountered during previous years. The message was simple, "lock your car doors." This message was placed on school and business marquees, in local newspapers and social media outlets and on various Village websites.

Citizen's Police Academy Start Date Pushed to April 2, 2014
2014.02.18 - The Oswego Police Department still has space available for its next Citizen's Police Academy, as the start date has been pushed out to April 2, 2014. Classes will be held on Wednesday's from 6:30pm - 8:30pm and will run for 12 weeks in the Community Room at the Oswego Law Enforcement Center. Class size will be limited to 20 participants. Eligible applicants must be 18 years of age, reside in, own property, or operate a business within the Village.

2014 Update to Mass Notification System
2014.02.04 - In November of 2013, the KenCom Public Safety Center changed their mass notification system designed to provide emergency notification to residents and businesses in Kendall County to the Everbridge Mass Notification System. Those of you who previously registered under the old system must visit the new site to re-enter your information. This mass notification system gives us the ability to deliver pre-recorded emergency notifications and informational messages to either targeted areas or the entire County via telephone calls, text messages, or email.

The Oswego Police Department and Oswego Community Unit School District 308 have partnered to create a program that allows students and parents to anonymously provide tips about criminal activity occurring on school district property.
